The flood guard drain sealer can be installed in domestic or commercial building drains and plugs to stop the back-flow of water when flooding takes place or when sewerage systems become blocked.
Specifications and Sizes
- Choose from 2 models to suit different pipe sizes:
- Flood Guard Drain Sealer - 2 inch - to suit 50mm pipe
- Flood Guard Drain Sealer - 3 inch - to suit 75mm pipe
- Gaskets are made of moulded rubber, and all metal parts are plated or stainless steel.
- Drain sealer should only be installed vertically
Flood-Guard operates like a check valve to seal off water back-up caused by overloaded sewers. Water flows normally through the drain until the sewer begins to back up. The Flood-Guard float then rises to seal off the drain opening until the water recedes.
Installation
A screwdriver and a couple of minutes are all you need to install a Flood-Guard. Remove the strainer or plug cover if present and push flood guard directly into pipe (oil or grease can be used to assist). Be sure float is screwed on tightly. Once in place, it can prevent property damage and a very messy clean-up job. Please note: the flood guard should be cleaned regularly to make sure that float moves freely.
For extreme, extended pressure (for instance, where home-made seals have popped out of the line,) we can also supply standpipe models. Please call for details
