White salt is a popular choice for deicing as it is clean to use, unlike brown rock salt which leaves behind a messy residue.

How to use white salt for deicing

White salt can be evenly spread by hand via snow shovels and scoops or together with one of our many salt and grit spreaders. Once spread it reacts quickly melting accumulated snow and ice turning it into a substance called brine which encourages further melting.

Please note: Remember to distribute white salt evenly, bulk or clump spreading wastes salt it doesn’t make it more effective.

Where a forklift is not available on site, please order maximum 42 bags per pallet. A tail lift and pallet truck will be provided. Max weight per pallet is 1050kgs for this service.
