Fire Extinguisher - Wet Chemical

Wet chemical dispensing fire extinguisher for use on cooking oil and kitchen fires involving fats and grease. Can also be used on ordinary combustable fires, though they are especially suited for use on fires with an extremely high temperature.

• Wet chemical fire extinguishers work by starting a chemical reaction that createsa layer of foam on the surfaced of burning oil or fat that starves the fire of oxygen. The spray also has a cooling effect

• Cooking oil fires: cooking oil, grease and fats
  
• Ordinary combustable fires: wood, paper, textiles, rubber, some plastics and other organic carbon based compounds
  
• Ineffective against:
  
• Flammable metals: e.g. aluminium or magnesium
• Flammable gases: LPG, propane and butane
  
• Flammable liquids: petrol, alcohol, paints and solvents
  
• Care should be taken when using a wet chemical extinguisher as they can produce toxic fumes that can linger after a fire has been put out - after using indoors, windows and doors should be opened to ventilate the area
