Brown rock salt is a cost effective de-icing solution that can be spread over a variety of surfaces keeping them free from snow and ice during the cold winter months.
To be effective brown road salt needs to be crushed by vehicle or pedestrian traffic so that it can dissolve and lower the freezing point of moisture on the road surface.
Suitable for use with both manual salt spreaders and motorised salt spreaders, brown road salt is the perfect de-icing solution for surfaces that can be extremely slippery in winter.

How to use brown road salt for deicing
Brown rock salt can be distributed by hand via a snow scoop or shovel or together with one of our many salt and grit spreaders. Not only can it be used to target ice and snow already on the ground, brown rock salt can be used as a preventative solution to stop snow from lying and ice from forming.
Brown rock salts spreads more easily and is more effective when its dry so it a good idea to invest in high quality, weather resistant salt and grit bins to stop moisture getting to the salt before it has been used.
Please note: Brown rock salt is less effective below -5°C and has virtually no effect below -10°C.
